Summer equates to Strawberries, here at Cafe Maison. Around end of June or beginning of July, we start browsing through the "Pick Your Own" Farm websites to bring home these delightful parcels of happiness. While the large hybrid varieties look juicy and delicious, my personal favorites are the smaller, Ontario Strawberries. One bite into them releases a burst of sugar and freshness in your mouth.
So, this weekend we went to a local farm to bring home some summer goodness. And thus has started a week long Strawberry Festival.
The best way for me to have them is just right off the plants. But, while you can only have so many of the fresh strawberries, I try to come up with some recipes to enjoy the flavor in different ways. So far, this is what I have made -
Rice Flour Crepes with Strawberry Salsa
Strawberry Rosemary Syrup
